Page out of date?

Pray-as-you-go is updated every week, currently on Wednesday, with the files for the following week.  We can assure you that this has happened without fail every week since the site began on 1 March 2006.

If you are getting an out-of-date page on your screen, this may be because your browser has "cached" the page (stored the page in its memory) from a previous visit and is showing you that, instead of taking the page "fresh" from our web site.

This can usually be solved by hitting the "Refresh" button on your toolbar (if you are using Internet Explorer) or "Reload" (in Firefox or Netscape).

Changing the settings

Your browser can be set to "cache" pages in its memory, or to look every time for a fresh page from the web.

In Internet Explorer, these settings can be found under Tools > Internet Options.  Click the General tab and then, in the section marked Temporary Internet Files, click the Settings button.  If you want it always to check for the latest version of the page, select "Every visit to the page" here and click OK, and OK again.

In Netscape 7.2, this setting is under Edit > Preferences.  In the box on the left, click the + sign next to "Advanced" and then click "Cache" from the list that appears.  If you want it always to check for the latest version of the page, select "Every time I view the page" here and click OK.

Firefox does not have a similar setting.

Emptying the cache

If these steps do not solve the difficulty, you can empty the cache of all stored pages and graphics.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options.  Click the General tab and then, in the section marked Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button.  If this is the first time you have done this, there will probably be many files to delete, and it may take some minutes to complete the operation.  Then click OK.

In Netscape 7.2, click Edit > Preferences.  In the box on the left, click the + sign next to "Advanced" and then click "Cache" from the list that appears.  Then click the Clear Cache button and click OK.

In Firefox, click Tools > Options and then, in the box on the left, click Privacy.  The last item on the list should be Cache.  Click the Clear button next to it and then OK.

Emptying the cache will delete any previous versions of the page and force your browser to go to the web site to get the latest version.
