checking for updates

It is our intention to update the podcast feed every Thursday night (by midnight GMT) with all the MP3 files for the following week, so that you can get each week's material in one operation, and have the whole of Friday and the weekend to do it.

To get the latest episodes, open Juice,
and click the Subscriptions tab

Then click the green button with the arrows
subtitled "check for new podcasts".

Juice will then switch to the "Downloads" tab
and display any new episodes,
reporting its progress in downloading them.

If you want to play the MP3 files on your computer, please note that Juice does not have an audio-playing software built into it.  Click File on the toolbar, choose Preferences and click the Player tab to tell Juice what to use for playing files, such as Windows Media Player, Winamp or iTunes.  Of course, if you are not planning to listen to them on your computer, you won't need to bother with this.

transferring to your MP3 player

This process differs from one MP3 player to another.

Some MP3 players, when connected to your computer, appear as a "removable disk drive" on "My Computer" (in the same way as a memory stick does, so for Windows users, it would appear alongside the A-drive, C-drive, etc).

Transferring files to your player is then a matter of finding them on your computer, opening the MP3 player's folder on your computer, and "dragging-and-dropping" them from one folder to the other.

You may have difficulty finding where Juice put the files!  If you are using Windows, the default location where Juice keeps podcast files is in My Documents > My Received Podcasts

Other players come with some kind of manager software that handles transfer between the computer and the player. If this is the case with yours, instructions on how to do this transfer should come with the player.

You can choose a different place to keep the files by clicking File on the toolbar, choosing Preferences and typing in (or browsing for) a different location in the slot marked "Download podcasts into this folder".
