settings

You can adjust various settings by clicking Edit on the toolbar, choosing Preferences and then clicking the Podcasts tab.

This gives you options for how regularly to check for new episodes ("every day" will be more than enough for pray-as-you-go) and for what to do "when new episodes are available" (we recommend choosing "download all").

Finally you can choose how many episodes to "keep" (this is up to you, but if you choose "All episodes" you can always delete manually any old pray-as-you-go files that you don't want).

checking for updates

It is our intention to update the podcast feed every Wednesday (by midnight GMT) with all the MP3 files for the following week, so that you can get each week's material in one operation, and have Thursday, Friday and the weekend to do it.

To get the latest episodes, open iTunes and in the left hand column (headed "source") click Podcasts.

Pray-as-you-go should appear (as well as a list of any other podcasts you are subscribed to).

Just to the left of the words Pray-as-you-go there should be a little blue or grey triangle.  If it is pointing to the right, click it, and it should point down.

When it is pointing down, all episodes waiting to download, or already downloaded, should be listed.

If iTunes is not already updating automatically,
click the big circle marked Update
in the top right of the screen.

iTunes should start downloading any remaining episodes.

If new episodes are listed but are not being downloaded,
click the GET button next to each episode you want to download.

transferring to your MP3 player

This process differs from one MP3 player to another.

If your MP3 player is an iPod, you can "sync" it with iTunes by connecting it to your computer.  You can find the settings for this by clicking Edit on the toolbar, choosing Preferences and clicking the iPod tab.

If your MP3 player is not an iPod, you can transfer the MP3 files as you would transfer any other MP3s to your player.

Some MP3 players, when connected to your computer, appear as a "removable disk drive" on "My Computer" (in the same way as a memory stick does, so for Windows users, it would appear alongside the A-drive, C-drive, etc).

Transferring files to your player is then a matter of finding them on your computer, opening the MP3 player's folder on your computer, and "dragging-and-dropping" them from one folder to the other.

You may have difficulty finding where iTunes put the files!  If you are using Windows, the default location where iTunes keeps podcast files is in My Documents > My Music > Podcasts

Other players come with some kind of manager software that handles transfer between the computer and the player.  If this is the case with yours, instructions on how to do this transfer should come with the player.
